The free Community Brush Pit on Control Road is open Sundays from 8:00 am to 4:00 PM. Call 602-842-1955 to make sure they are open or for any further information. Brush can also be taken to the Buckhead Mesa Landfill, but there is a charge to dump there.
Here in the Rim Country, we are always in some sort of fire danger status. Due to that, it is required that you call before lighting any outdoor fires.
When not under fire restrictions, we will inspect and issue you a permit to burn yard debris, pine needles, brush, etc. (no trash). Within the allotted burn hours. Please contact the stations for a permit. (Practices will be posted for viewing and printing soon.)
Fires used for warming, cooking and socializing are considered warming fires. These are fires burning with wood only, no yard debris. While you do not need a permit for these, we ask that you contact the station to first, make sure you can have an outdoor fire and second, to give us your location so that we can keep track of where fires are burning in our district.
